The wait for modernised body corporate regulations will soon be over

The Queensland Government released into law the long-awaited updates to the Body Corporate and Community Management (BCCM) Regulations on 1 October 2020. Due to come into effect on 1 March 2021, they will look to ease some administrative obligations and legislate a range of common modern practices to rectify loopholes caused by changes to the way people live and work today.

On 1 October 2020, after seven years of consultation and a property law review, the Queensland Government released some of its long-expected changes to the Body Corporate and Community Management legislation, specifically the Regulation modules.These Regulations module amendments will come into effect on 1 March 2021 to modernise body corporate regulations across the state and enhance options for body corporates.Below are helpful links to the fundamental changes with the help of the Queensland Government summary of Changes to the body corporate Standard Module regulation webpage.
