The NSW Government has announced that the commencement date for the Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme (FPAS) has been delayed until 1 July 2020.
This date marks the day fire safety practitioners holding a FPAS Fire Safety Assessment or Fire Systems Design accreditation will be recognised as ‘competent fire safety practitioners’ (CFSPs). This extension date works alongside the NSW fire safety reforms that came in as of April (where NSW buildings will only be able to have fire safety statements endorsed by CFSPs).
